Psychiatric Evaluation

A comprehensive psychiatric evaluation is an important piece of our patient intake process. Our provider will have an in-depth discussion with you about your physical and mental health history, as well as your goals for wellness. This information is used to rule-out and hone-in on dysfunctions in memory, thought processes, behaviors, and mood. Correctly diagnosing the problem is a critical step in forming a treatment plan, so be prepared to be open and honest during your evaluation. Writing down information that you think is important to address during your intake is a good way to make sure it isn't forgotten! To ensure that our providers have plenty of time to perform a comprehensive evaluation, please be prepared to spend up to 2 hours at your initial intake appointment.

"As any doctor can tell you, the most crucial step toward healing is having the right diagnosis. If the disease is precisely identified, a good resolution is far more likely. Conversely, a bad diagnosis usually means a bad outcome, no matter how skilled the physician."
